Freeland is South Whidbey’s commercial center and the fastest growing community on the south end of the island. Major businesses include hardware, banks, retail, mortgage and title; Freeland is also home to many antique shops, restaurants and other small retailers.

A golf course and upscale homes hug the Holmes Harbor shoreline that is anchored by Nichols Brothers boat builders, the area’s largest employer.

On the west side bordering Mutiny Bay, beach walkers, clam diggers and bird watchers glory in the coastline that runs from Double Bluff north.

Just a few minutes away from Freeland are two wonderful waterfront parks – South Whidbey State Park includes picnic areas and hiking trails; Double Bluff Park has miles of sandy, off-leash, dog-friendly beaches that provide sweeping views of Mount Rainier and the Seattle skyline in the distance.
